Something To Do With The Kids In Tucson? Children’s Museum Of Tucson
Looking for something to do with the kids in Tucson? Look no further than the Children’s Museum of Tucson. Located in the historic Carnegie Library, CMT has 17,000 square feet space with 10 indoor exhibits and a beautiful outdoor courtyard with lots of space for kids to play and imagine with a mission of inspiring children and their families to reach their full potential through discovery, creativity and learning.

The Children’s Museum Tucson was founded as the Southwest Children’s Exploratory Center in November 1986 in a small space on Pennington Street. The founders believed play was an essential part of learning for children. As it grew, it migrated to the Historic Y on University, and moved to its current location in the historic Carnegie Library in 1991.

Through all its growth, the Museum never lost sight of the founders’ vision to provide fun, hands-on learning experiences for kids. It now has 17,000 square feet, 10 exhibit areas and an outdoor courtyard filled with components that encourage kids to build, create, imagine, explore and discover. This is play-based learning at its best!

In 2015, CMT expanded with Children’s Museum Oro Valley, a satellite location specially sized for kids ages 0-5. With an Early Childhood Education focus, CMOV’s exhibits and programs stimulate curiosity and motivate learning through play. Arts-, literacy- and science-based activities help get those small visitors ready for school.

CMT’s exhibits and programs are geared toward kids up to 10 years old. Their Fiesta Room offers private party space for birthday parties and the Museum is a great space to rent out for family or business events as well.

For further information on programs offered, check out their website at https://childrensmuseumtucson.org/ or call them at (520) 792-9985.

Located at 200 South 6th Ave., Tucson, AZ 85701, in the historic Carnegie Library, CMT is situated in the heart of Downtown, but also close to Historic 4th Avenue, Menlo Park (West of I-10), Riekers and Amory Park neighborhoods.
