Barrio Anita, one of Tucson's many historical neighborhoods, dates back to 1903 and is located in what is now central Tucson just east of I-10 and south of West Speedway Boulevard.
The Anita Street Market is well known for its tortillas and burritos and sells Mexican favorites daily in the neighborhood. Barrio Anita is also home to David Herrera and Ramon Quiroz Park, a more than 6-acre park with various sports courts, picnic tables and ramada. There are various bars, restaurants and parks in the neighborhood.
Mainly comprised of 1920s homes, Barrio Anita is full of historic homes built in Sonoran style with adobe walls and flat roofs. Homes built later are American Territorial and Queen Anne style.
