Harold Bell Wright Estates, named after an early American fiction author, is a Tucson historic district located at the corner of East Speedway and North Wilmot Road near St. Joseph's Hospital.
The former home of Harold Bell Wright sits in the middle of the eponymous neighborhood, which covers nearly 120 acres.
Many of the adobe homes in the neighborhood were built in the 1950s as custom ranches for affluent homeowners of the time and were larger floor plans than typical for the period.
The neighborhood's unsual street names came from characters in Wright's books. Though situated amidst urban city blocks, the neighborhood embraces its dusty desert landscape.
