Winterhaven is a fantastic, centrally located neighborhood in central Tucson, AZ full of 1950s built single family residences on 1/4 acre lots as well as 1980s built condos and townhomes.  The neighborhood is full of mature vegetation including goreous Aleppo Pine trees.   Winterhaven is a Tucson treasure.  Talk about character! Winterhaven's got it. Every holiday season Winterhaven residents put on a Festival of Lights. The festival has been held continously since 1949.  The festival raises money for the Community Food Bank in Tucson. What a great way to create a "community" with your future neighbors.

The 1950s style homes are a treasure.  Many of been completely renovated, yet retain their 1950s aesthetic.  The area is irrigated so the homes all have lawns.  It's an oasis that's truly special. The condos and townhomes are fairly comtemporary units that are priced much lower than the single family residences.  Prices range from the low $100Ks for the condos and townhomes and from the the high $100Ks for the residences.  Most of the residences sold over the last 6 months have sold in the mid-high $200s.  There is usually very low inventory in Winterhaven single family residences.  There is usually a much higher inventory of condos and townhomes.  

Winterhaven was listed on the National Registar of Historic places in 2005.  This designation means that homeowners in the neighborhood may be able to take advantage of reduced property taxes (and own a truly special property).  With it's curving streets, irregular lots, and irrigated, mature landscaping Winterhaven boasts a unique and spectacular park-like atmosphere in central Tucson.  Call, text, email me for more information.
