If you're in the process of searching for that perfect place to spend a few months a year- but not all twelve months- Tucson might just be the perfect place for you.
A recent study found that Tucson is the tenth most popular city in the United States of America to own a second home. Also listed in the top ten of this same list was fellow Grand Canyon State city Glendale, which checked in at number four.
The scenery of Tucson is one logical reason for its appearance in the top ten. It's no secret that families looking for a second home do so with aesthetics sitting high on their list of factors, and Tucson more than delivers on that front. Between the surrounding mountains in every direction and the sunrise and sunset over those mountains, Tucson can be home to some beautiful imagery.
But more importantly, Tucson is known for its relatively low median house prices and low rates of crime. Ultimately, that's how second houses are sold.
The list of the best cities to buy a second home was topped by Fort Wayne, Indiana, which was followed by El Paso, Texas and St. Louis, Missouri at #2 and #3, respectively.
