The continued growth of the population in the Tucson area means more demand for housing- and the residential real estate firm Moderne Communities is answering the bell.

The company recently announced a new community that will be built just to the southeast of Tucson, close to Saguaro National Park. The housing community will be called "Moderne at Rocking K Ranch," and the first shovel is expected to break into the ground before New Year's Day. Leasing plans are expected to begin in 2023.

The planned development is to be a "built to rent" community, meaning that the investor who engineers the project- in this case, Moderne Communities- is creating the neighborhood with the intention of renting all the units out. Moderne says that the community will consist of 224 unique, single story, single family homes, all located within close proximity of the development's park. The project also calls for the construction of a community pool, barbecue center, and fitness area.

“After the success of our Moderne at Centennial in Las Vegas, which is now 90 percent leased, I am excited to begin building in Arizona,” Moderne president Randy Bury stated in a recent press release. “To be the only build-to-rent neighborhood among homes being built and sold by Pulte, Lennar, KB Homes and Richmond American is especially exciting. Rocking K is a beautifully planned community with wonderful nearby amenities.”
