At the heart of Gene C. Reid Park in Central Tucson is the Reid Park Zoo. Open year round except Thanksgiving and Christmas Days, the zoo is open daily 9:00 to 4:00, October to May and 8:00-2:00, June to September, to allow for the summer heat.
Daily admission cost is $10.50 per individual, ages 15-61; $8.50 for seniors 62+; $6.50 for kids 2-14 and kids under 2 are free.
The zoo has electric wheel chairs, wheel chairs and single or double strollers available for rent for the convenience of visitors. Water bottles are welcome and always recommended, but outside food, coolers, etc. are not allowed. Picnic tables are available nearby in Reid Park.
In addition to the membership savings, Reid Park Zoo offers discounted admissions to 501(c)3 groups working with children, behavioral health and homeless groups. Membership includes a typical discount of 50% to approximately 150 zoos and aquariums nationwide.
Reid Park Zoo is involved on several levels in nature conservation. Animal residents at the zoo are kept in a state as close to their natural conditions as possible. Further, the Zoo is involved with several nature conservancy organizations and programs around the world, both environmental and species specific.
Reid Park Zoo is located just minutes from San Gabriel, Broadmoor-Broadway, Arroyo Chico, Parkway Terrace, Barrio Centro, Julia Keen and Alvernon Heights neighborhoods.
