Maybe an auspicious opening date. Voltron Brewing taproom opened on Saint Patrick’s Day (March 17, 2023. Voltron Brewing taproom fronts the on-site brewing efforts of Borderlands Brewing and Firetruck Brewing. Featuring several beers each from the two Tucson brewers, they also offer revolving brews from other breweries around the state, plus six flavors of seltzer. of status.
Current food offerings are limited to chips and popcorn, but plans are in the works to add an evening food truck. Parking is free, safe and nearly unlimited.
Voltron doesn’t yet have a web site, but can be found on Facebook by searching Voltron Brewing Taproom or on Instagram at voltron brewing
Voltron is located behind the building attached to the north side of Rocks and Ropes, but can be a bit difficult to find. First, on Toole, just north of Rocks and Ropes, look for the A-Frame chalk board saying “Voltron Brewing”. Pull into the parking lot between Rocks and Ropes and the food distribution warehouse, then head toward the back of the lot. Look left and see the entryway with the Beer Farm opening, shown in the second photo.
Seating is ample, with several bar seats, six seats looking into the brewery (please don’t tap the windows, it disturbs the brewers), 2 large double sided high top tables, 2 wall high tops and an L-shaped lounge area with couches and coffee table. Wifi is available; ask for the password.
The ambiance is relaxing, with clean white walls and and a music system offering mostly classic rock, which is loud enough to hear, but doesn’t require hollering to carry on a conversation.
Voltron Brewing’s address is 330 S. Toole Ave., #200, but follow the directions above. This places Voltron in the area of he Armory Park, Barrio San Antonio, Eastland Heights, Arroyo Chico, Millville, and Pueblo Gardens neighborhoods.
