Another New Chapter for Iron John’s: Broadway

From their website, “Good things come to those who wait.” And people have been waiting for quite a while for this one. Iron John’s Brewing merged with Monkey Burger in the Williams Center on Broadway a couple of years ago. Complications from COVID and the typical permitting issues with any bigger city stalled this project several times, but the time has finally come.

After the usual issues that come with a soft opening on October 16th, the all new Iron John’s Broadway had their official opening on October 17th, and things are now on a roll. The entire building has been completely renovated and redecorated in a bright, friendly and casual new environment. When you walk in, whether through the north or south entrance, take a look at the floor. You will find brewing words embedded in the floor, an interesting touch. Look up at the walls on the front east wall, and all along the upper west wall, and you will notice what looks like flouescent light bulbs. They won’t ever light up though, because they are polished, painted and waxed pipes, solely there for an architectural impact.

While a few of the traditional Monkey Burger favorite burgers will appear on the menu, the new focus is on custom pizzas. House made dough, marinara or alfredo sauce base and numerous creative topping options present you with eight menu pizzas prepared in their new Italian imported pizza oven (see photo below). You can also build your own pizza from a list of toppings, but there is a limit to the number of toppings allowed, and you can probably find what you want among the 8 menu pizzas.

There are currently 4 burgers on the menu, but old Monkey Burger favorites will occasionally show up as well. Iron John’s offers three salad options, as well as four appetizers listed on the menu under the title “Share It.”

As for the drinks menu, it is, of course Iron John’s Brewing, so there are nine Iron John’s brews on tap, with one rotating seasonal. They also offer 2 cask wines, several bottle choices, a full bar, and perhaps of most interest if you are not a beer drinker, Iron John’s Broadway offers 8 exotic cocktails. The soft drink offerings are Coca Cola products.

As to seating, again, the room is comfortable and casual, with bar seating, booths and tables, as well as an outdoor veranda that can be opened to the inside during pleasant weather. The veranda is not open to dogs currently, pending more permits. The ceiling is high and bright, but the lighting is lowered in the evenings

Located in the Williams Center, at 5350 Broadway Blvd., #128, Tucson, AZ 85711, between Anthony’s Cigar Emporium and George Wine Shop, Iron John’s Broadway is close to the Rosemont East and Rosemont West neighborhoods, Wilshire Heights, Loma Verde and Sewell neighrohoods.
