Can you picture Asian/Cajun Seafood served here in Tucson? Crab and/or Crawfish boils? Oh, how about Alligator Nuggets? And on Broadway just about halfway between Swan and Craycroft. It’s true. It’s true!
Founded by former NFL player Ron Lou, with the first restaurant in Mesa, AZ, the Angry Crab Shack chain has spread around the state, and is now moving nationwide.
Located at 5205 E Broadway, Angry Crab East is convenient to the downtown and midtown neighborhoods of Tucson. If you like a friendly, somewhat loud atmosphere, and don’t mind getting your fingers a little sticky, this place is a real find. The menu has several boil options, with a variety of side dishes, and includes sandwiches, po-boys and the like for those who want to keep their fingers clean. If like oysters, they have both a cooked and raw version available for you. Don’t be surprised when your waiter dumps your food out right on the paper covered table. Traditions are important in cajun cuisine.
Besides their variety of side dish offerings, you can choose to add a number of items to your “boil” bag. If this sounds like a foreign language to you, go to their website at angrycrabshack.com for a “translation”.
Angry Crab Shack East has a full service bar, with mixed drinks, several beers (to include some craft beers for us beer snobs), and a full menu of soft drinks.
In the area around Angry Crab Shack East you will find the Williams Center, Highland Vista Cinco Via, Sewell and Rincon University neighborhoods.
