Here’s another “Cheers” spot on Tucson’s East Side. Plenty of great reviews, including this one. On The Rocks even has a cozy little corner with an electric fireplace for an intimate evening.
Opened just as the COVID experience was beginning to dwindle, On The Rocks was opened on Tucson’s East Side to offer a welcoming spot for people to gather, enjoy food and drinks, and generally be entertained.
Offering a spacious location, with various types of seating, On The Rocks has ample bar seating, from the numerous bar seats, to counter seats dividing the bar area from a significant number of low top tables, and even a cozy little spot with sofas, a coffee table and even an electric fireplace. The restrooms are easy to access and are kept spotless.
Separated from the seating areas, On The Rocks has three pool tables and two electronic dart boards set up on an elevated stage with a half wall divider. There are many televisions spread out around the entire facility, airing sporting events from open to close, along with a jukebox and ATM machine to keep your evening going. Located in Pantano Square, there is lots of available parking
Ambiance is well lit, but not too bright, with a lively but not overwhelming noise level unless the place is packed.
As the name would suggest, On The Rocks has a full bar, and thirteen beers on tap, two thirds of which are craft beers. The coolers contain quite a variety of bottled beers, so if they don’t have your favorite on tap, you will probably find it in bottles.
On The Rocks is open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM, and Sundays from 11:00 AM to Midnight. The kitchen is open on Monday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to Midnight.
OTRs food menu takes up three full sized pages, listing 9 Appetizers, 4 Salads, 4 Wraps, 10 Sandwiches, 4 Burgers, 6 styles of Flatbreads, Wings and Tenders, 4 Desserts and 6 Soups and Sides. In addition to the adult beverages, On The Rocks carries Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate and Pepsi Soft Drinks.
On The Rocks is located at 7930 E. Speedway Blvd., in the Pantano Square shopping center. Check out their website at ontherocks.com or you can give them a call at 520-849-7159, but understand the bartenders, who stay busy, also answer the phone, so be patient with them. Their website lists the upcoming events, such as Karaoke Nights, Comedy Nights, Football on Thursdays, Sundays and Mondays, Trivia Nights and Live Music Nights.
Given their location in Pantano Square, On The Rocks is a short drive from the Far Horizons, Kendall Square, Carriage Park, Estes Park and Broadway Pantano East neighborhoods.
